Is “Stealth Wealth” The Best Way To Enjoy Your Life And Wealth?

All people want to have a lot of money and not necessarily to be rich. The degree of how much money one desires varies, that is why there is no one definition of what being rich is to all people.

For example, a person might consider themselves rich if they own their own home and business as well as having a family car. For another person, the definition of rich might mean being in the top of the Fortune 500 list.

But many undoubtedly want enough money to be able to quit working and just relax for the rest of their lives. Others want enough money so they can look after all the needs of their families, extended families and even friends.

Others want enough money so they can travel in style to any destination that they want or to be able buy the most expensive possessions there are. Others want enough money to be able to flex/show off to other people...

AM I A SHOW OFF?

Undeniably there are many people who want to become rich so they can show off. This especially applies to people who are poor who suddenly come into some money. You would notice this behavior among humans especially near Christmas when bonuses are given.

This human behavior is even encouraged by many industries. The fashion and personal care industry is notorious for this. Even the automobile industry is guilty of this. These and other industries continuously advertise that you should buy their products to stand out in society.

Others have nobler but equally questionable reasons. For example, there are people who want to become rich so they can show off to their parents and make their parents proud of them. Of course, there are parents who’s barometer of success is money but others are not like these.

Still, others might want to show off out of revenge. For example, a person ridiculed before by their elementary or highschool companions might show off during their school reunions even at the extent of lying about their personal wealth.

This next reason applies to men. In our society, it is still the men who as a majority court the women and not the other way around. Men would show off and even lie to women just to impress them.

WHAT IS STEALTH WEALTH?

Stealth wealth is simply defined as: “the practice where you keep your wealth and fortunes hidden from others. This possibly includes friends, family, and co-workers. This allows you to live the lifestyle you desire without the hassles of one who is moneyed…”

“This also includes the absence of any appearance of being moneyed.”
In reality, there are many very rich people who practice stealth wealth. For example, the Fortune and Forbes annual rich list might not entirely be accurate.

For example, although many already know that there are many billionaires already in the world, there is no publicly verified trillionaire yet. This might be because these trillionaires are very good at hiding their wealth.

For example, rumor has it that the Saudi Royals are already trillionaires but you won’t see any publicly available document verifying this. But forget about the trillionaires first, let’s try a more moderate example.

Do you have a neighbor with the same normal house as you and drives a regular car? But do you notice subtle indications of wealth like them being able to buy a new regular car every year or always goes on a vacation overseas several times a year? They might be into stealth wealth.

WHY DO PEOPLE PRACTICE STEALTH WEALTH AND WHERE DO THEY ACTUALLY SPEND THEIR MONEY ON?

People who practice stealth wealth might already have experienced the negative side effects of being moneyed. For example, if people know you are moneyed, there would be plenty of them who would constantly bug you to give them or lend them money.

They also know or even have experienced the dangers of being moneyed. Of course, everyone knows that moneyed people are targeted by criminals which includes scammers, robbers and even kidnappers.

In short, people who practice stealth wealth want personal and financial security. They know that they and their money are targets of less than good people and they want to keep their distance from these people as far away as possible.

But don’t get them wrong. They also buy expensive things if needed. They buy expensive things for themselves and not to show off to others. For example, they might buy expensive and comfortable sofas but you wouldn’t know this unless you’re inside their modest house.

They avoid buying objects or engaging in activities that would cause them stress, waste their time or compromise their security. For example, they might avoid playing golf because golf attracts a lot of attention from people who want to make money off other people.

DOES STEALTH WEALTH EQUATES TO FRUGALITY?

To be direct. Frugal people especially consider the cost of an item above anything else. Frugal people might sacrifice quality for price. People who practice stealth wealth always go for quality first before price.

Example: a show off might spend a lot of money on their house and garden just to show off while a person who practices stealth wealth might actually spend more by building a tall wall in front of their house so that their more expensive garden and house would not be seen publicly.

They realize that the more you show your possessions are for showing off, the more work and money is required to maintain them. For example, a publicly displayed house would need to be cleaned. This would require the show off to manage cleaners and pay them money.

To emphasize this even further, let’s look at sports cars which are arguably the possessions of people who want to show off. A sports car would need constant cleaning and detailing otherwise the owner would likely be frowned upon.

Compare this with a stealth wealth practitioner who buys an equally expensive but normal looking pickup. People who see the pickup won’t mind if the pickup is a little bit dirty or even dented at times.

DO YOU HAVE AN EUROPEAN MADE SPORTS CAR?

When it comes to showing off, a person’s car is undeniably one of the greatest possession for showing off. This is because next to a house, the car is the second most unaffordable object people tend to not own. In essence, a car is a status symbol.

And what more to show your status in society than owning a European made sports car. When you have a European sports car, people tend to notice you. People easily associate you with being rich and even famous.

But there are hidden financial damages of owning one. You would be a target to the police who would naturally assume that your a speeder. Envious people would scratch your car which could result in expensive paint jobs.

Also, once your expensive sports car breaks down, it would require expensive specialist only repairs. You would also have to likely buy the spare parts from Europe and of course you would have to pay expensive insurance fees.

There is also a high possibility that you would be a victim of robbery everytime you board your car. There is also a high probability that your sports car would be stolen. As you can see, the simple act of indulging in luxury can cause you societal, criminal and financial nightmares!

HOW DOES SHOWING OFF AFFECT YOUR FAMILY?

When people are known to be rich especially if they are show offs, a lot of people would do anything to get the money of these people which includes victimizing the family of these people.

Your family can be the victim of lawsuits. For example, a girl might falsely accuse your son of sexual harassment. But it could get worse, your family can be a victim of crime in exchange for money like being robbed, kidnapped and so on.

Also, when you tend to display your wealth, a lot of people get envious with you. This is the reason why the homes of wealthy people are sometimes vandalized and even damaged. This might include their cars, boats, planes and so on.

Cybercriminals would also want to hack not only your digital account but your family as well. The reasons are varied: It could be that criminals are wanting to steal digital money from you or your family or it could be something as malicious as being targeted for just being a show off.

It could get to the point of being physically attacked just for being rich. Many malicious social justice activists have been known to throw eggs, ripened tomatoes and other objects to rich people whom they claim are the cause of all that’s wrong with the world.

CAN YOU STILL ENJOY BEING MONEYED?

I guess it’s very clear now that showing off your wealth while it might make you popular can also have very many bad consequences. But in truth, you can still enjoy your wealth but just don’t brag about it.

Though I can’t comment on your personal style, I highly suggest that you for example buy possessions like clothes and cars that are expensive and high quality but don’t attract a lot of attention. This is for your personal wellbeing: You might attract scammers and other criminals with your flashy taste in possessions.

Also, refrain from posting your entire life online. For example, Facebook and all the other social media platforms have become a hotbed for bragging on just about anything which includes even the most mundane of things: like what you ate for lunch. Sooner or later, there might be people who would be asking lunch money from you.

Keep your expensive belongings and activities away from the public’s eye. For example, you can still have your regular world trip vacations but you don’t have to show or talk about this to anyone. For example, criminals might want to loot your house while you’re on your vacation especially if you post this online.

CONCLUSION

There are many reasons why people adopt the stealth wealth lifestyle. It could be because these people are humble in nature and don’t want to be seen as show offs or even arrogant. These people could have also experienced the negative consequences of being moneyed.

But one thing is for sure: you have nothing bad to gain for adopting a stealth wealth lifestyle: You can still enjoy your money without experiencing much of the crime, jealousy and all the negative aspects of people who associate you with your wealth.
