Making Money from Entertainment

Television Broadcasting Companies, Movie Studios, Record Companies and so on once dictated what we see and hear as entertainment. Times have changed especially due to the internet everyone can be an entertainer. YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter and so on has provided thru text, audio and video media the power for everyone to broadcast themselves.

You Can Start With a Mobile Phone

It is now so easy to become an entertainer. I once made a few Youtube videos with nothing but my laptop and some free software. I used my PowerPoint to create a graphical and text presentation. The picture and video backgrounds came from the free picture catalog website Pixabay. But I have seen videos and podcasts recorded and uploaded in social media using just a mobile phone. It is that basic.

You Can Be an Introvert as Well

If you are an introvert and does not want to be seen in the limelight you can write blogs or other online text content. You could also write informational and documentary material and post them online or make them available in printed form if you can afford it.

You can also make audio media without using your own voice or if the audio recording situation in your area is awful. You could use “Text To Speech” software and apps and get rid of the problems of unwanted noise while you are recording your audio media.

For reasons only you know you may want to produce videos but you do not want to show your face nor speak. Do not think this is a hindrance to your video making career. A good example would be videos by the American Tech Youtube channel. He has over a million subscribers and he has videos with millions of views. Yet he does not show his face or speak but just shows his hands as they make his gadgets.

Busking

You could also try “Busking" or street performance to earn money. When I worked in the business and tourism area of Sydney, Australia I always see buskers performing. I usually see the same “buskers” everyday as I go to work which means that busking is a major part of their daily income. At times I will literally see them checking or estimating the amount of money they have actually earned so far. This means that it is a serious business for them.

There have been many famous entertainers who began their careers as buskers. They got discovered when their entertainment act became famous for one reason or another especially in this age of social media when you or your performance can be captured in mobile, become “viral” and then maybe catapult you to fame.

Search Wikipedia for Street Performance and go the “Notable Performers” section of the article. In here you will see just a tiny list of some people who began their careers as buskers who became famous.

So much can be said about opportunities in entertainment. As long as you can sell a service or a product where you perform a speech, song, dance, act and so on to entertain an audience then the products and services you can offer are near infinite. Even the act of educating or informing someone these days have been made to entertainment products and services.

Conclusion

It does not matter if you are an extrovert or an introvert. The online world especially social media has enabled everyone young and old to be an entertainer. There are varied ways of earning from entertainment. There are sources of income from entertainment where you need to face the audience and also those where you do not have to face the audience.

The important thing is that you can entertain your audience full-time or part-time and from anywhere around the world as long as you can be online. You can be at some remote location in the jungle but you can still entertain your audience. You can be comfortably at your home only but you can still entertain your audience.
